How do we interface an external electrical resistance measuring system to the Dynacool PPMS or MPMS3 system?

In terms of interfacing  an external electrical resistance measuring system with either the Dynacool or the MPMS3, it would be helpful to know whether you are referring to hardware or software interfacing and what specifically you are looking to do.

PPMS DynaCool

For the Dynacool, if you want to connect external measurement devices to a sample, there are two options, one is a breakout box that allows you to used the electrical wiring already present in the system and the normal ETO/Resistivity pucks (see part P541 under the PPMS tab here: https://www.qdusa.com/support/parts.html). You can then connect your own measurement electronics via the sockets on the breakout box. The other option is one of our multifunction probes, which come in several configurations (see this brochure: https://qd-uki.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Multi-Function-Probes.pdf). These come with their own wiring that you can connect your electronics to at the top of the probe.

MPMS3

For the MPMS3, if you want to connect external electronics to do resistance measurements, we offer the resistivity option, which is our standard ETO sample holder (this brochure on the ETO option shows the sample holder: https://qd-uki.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/ETO-for-MPMS-3-Brochure.pdf), plus a cable that allows you do connect any electronics you would like to use via D connector. You can also connect external voltage sources to a coax connector on the ETO Option CAN module for biasing samples if you purchase the full option.

For controlling external electronics from Multivu, or interfacing Multivu with Labview, please have a look at the application notes linked below (some of these will require a pharos account to access):
