Quantum Design UK and Ireland would like to wish all our customers, suppliers, colleagues and friends a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a peaceful and prosperous New Year.
This year we have welcomed new staff, a new partner and enjoyed organising and supporting various events around the country across a number of disciplines. Scroll down for a few of QDUKI’s 2023 highlights, and our office opening times over the Christmas period.
Holiday Season Office Opening Times
The office will close on Thursday December 21st at 17:00, and will reopen Tuesday January 2nd 9:00
Event Highlights
Our annual Spectroscopic Ellipsometry Workshop and Course was a particular highlight, with record attendance. The event was hosted with the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC) and the CORNERSTONE Silicon Photonics MPW (Multi Project Wafer) service at the University of Southampton.
“The samples running session gives an accurate representation of equipment performance on challenging samples from the audience while the data analysis afterward this session corelates very well with the talks earlier in the day. I also thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the optical research facilities at University of Southampton as a part of this workshop, so a great choice of venue as well.”
Dr Cecil Cherian Lukose, Scientific Officer, High vacuum and thin films technology, Department of Physics & Electrical Engineering, Northumbria University
Our Material Property Measurement Workshop in October was held at the University of Cambridge. It gave attendees an opportunity to meet the QD applications scientists and tour the Maxwell Centre in an immersive and informative workshop.
“The workshop allowed me to learn from the most knowledgeable people in the business. I gained great insight into Quantum Design’s systems and was given fantastic advice on the considerations that need to be accounted for when taking measurements or working on the equipment.“
Maciej Myszczynski, Trainee Engineering Technician, University of Sheffield
FusionScope Tour
In 2023 we were delighted to have a demo version of the new Quantum Design Microscopy FusionScope to take on a tour of the UK. We also hosted a FusionScope workshop at our offices in Leatherhead which was well attended
