Through his role, Michael will support users of the extensive Lake Shore Cryotronics temperature portfolio, which includes sensors, controllers, monitors, and related instrumentation designed for precise measurement and control across a wide temperature range—from below 20 mK to over 1,500 K. These solutions are widely used in fields such as materials science, nanotechnology, electronics, and clean energy research, where accurate temperature control is critical for experimental success.

Distributed in the region by Quantum Design UK and Ireland, the Lake Shore range supports laboratories and industrial facilities working on next-generation technologies and fundamental scientific discovery. By combining high-performance instrumentation with application expertise, the partnership aims to deliver reliable measurement solutions to the research community.

In his new position, Michael will work directly with customers to discuss experimental requirements, recommend suitable products, and provide clear technical guidance throughout the selection and implementation process.

Commenting on his appointment, Michael said:
“I look forward to supporting researchers and engineers with clear technical communication and problem-solving.”

Temperature Products

Lake Shore Cryotronics temperature products are widely used in research and industrial environments where precise temperature measurement and control are essential. The portfolio includes temperature sensors, controllers, monitors, AC resistance bridges, current sources, and accessories designed for use across an exceptionally wide temperature range.

The product range features a variety of sensor technologies, including silicon diodes, resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), thermocouples, and Cernox® sensors, enabling researchers to select the most appropriate solution for their specific measurement conditions. These sensors can be packaged in multiple configurations, including cryogenic probes designed for demanding environments such as cryostats, fluid systems, or high-pressure cryogenic processes.

These technologies support a wide range of research areas, including materials science, superconductivity, nanotechnology, semiconductor device testing, energy research, and fundamental physics. Reliable temperature data and control are critical in these applications, helping researchers characterise materials, maintain stable experimental conditions, and generate reproducible results.
