Quantum Design UK and Ireland is pleased to introduce Michael Barr, who joins the team as Technical Sales Engineer, supporting customers with applications involving the company’s industry-leading cryogenic temperature instrumentation.
Michael brings a strong academic background in experimental and applied physics, combined with expertise in data analysis, statistical reasoning, and mathematical modelling. This technical foundation enables him to understand complex research challenges and work closely with scientists and engineers to identify the most effective measurement solutions for their applications.
Through his role, Michael will support users of the extensive Lake Shore Cryotronics temperature portfolio, which includes sensors, controllers, monitors, and related instrumentation designed for precise measurement and control across a wide temperature range—from below 20 mK to over 1,500 K. These solutions are widely used in fields such as materials science, nanotechnology, electronics, and clean energy research, where accurate temperature control is critical for experimental success.
Distributed in the region by Quantum Design UK and Ireland, the Lake Shore range supports laboratories and industrial facilities working on next-generation technologies and fundamental scientific discovery.
