The Condensed Matter and Quantum Materials (CMQM) series is home to the UK condensed matter physics community and offers a community-focussed meeting covering a wide range of topics and emerging fields, ranging from solid state and materials physics to many-body effects and quantum simulation. The conference is supported by a number of Institute of Physics groups and aims at bringing together scientists and PhD students with diverse interests, including 2D materials, new materials, magnetism, superconductivity, devices.

Cryogen free Physical Property Measurement System 

The popular Physical Property Measurement System (PPMS) from Quantum Design is now available in a truly cryogen-free package. The PPMS DynaCool uses a single two-stage Pulse Tube cooler to cool both the superconducting magnet and the temperature control system, providing a low vibration environment for sample measurements. It offers continuous low temperature control and precise field and temperature sweep modes.

Compact Cryofree® Dilution Refrigerator

The compact Cryofree ProteoxS dilution refrigerator delivers faster turnaround in a smaller size, with no compromise on performance.

Dry systems do not require the use of cryogenic liquids to provide the 4 K environment. Instead, pulse tube refrigerators are used. These enable push-button operation, can reduce the cost of ownership, and negate the need for a helium liquefier.
