Quantum Optics and Nanophotonics Winter School 2026

4th Quantum Optics and Nanophotonics Winter School

Quantum Optics and Nanophotonics Winter School 2026

Quantum Design UK & Ireland (QDUKI) is delighted to announce its sponsorship of the 4th Quantum Optics and Nanophotonics Winter School, taking place 27–28 January 2026 at The Wave, University of Sheffield, UK. This two-day intensive winter school — organised by the Quantum Physics and Technology Group and the Sheffield Quantum Centre — brings together leading international researchers, early-career scientists, and industry partners to explore frontier developments in quantum photonics, quantum light generation, and nanophotonics.

About the Winter School

The Winter School programme focuses on key topics shaping the future of quantum science and technology, including:

  • Generation, control, and detection of quantum light,
  • Novel materials for quantum nanophotonics,
  • Strong light–matter interaction,
  • Spin–photon interfaces in quantum dot systems,
  • Industry talks and interactive poster sessions.

Featuring lectures from expert academics and innovators, this school is open to PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and industry delegates — offering intensive learning and networking opportunities in a rapidly growing research landscape.

QDUKI’s Role and Commitment

As a proud sponsor, Quantum Design UK & Ireland continues its commitment to advancing scientific research and supporting the quantum science community across academia and industry. QDUKI is at the forefront of supplying high-performance scientific instrumentation that empowers researchers to push the boundaries of discovery.

Relevant QDUKI Technologies for Quantum Optics & Nanophotonics

Our portfolio includes a range of products particularly relevant to quantum optics, nanophotonics, and advanced photonics research:

🔹 Cryogenics & Optical Cryostats

Quantum optics and quantum dot research often require ultra-low temperatures:

  • Closed-cycle optical cryostats
  • Cryogen-free probe stations and cryogenic control systems
These tools enable experiments under highly controlled thermal conditions — a necessity for many quantum nanophotonics platforms.
