High Energy Cameras for both Imaging and Spectroscopy applications

Raptor has developed a series of camera platforms for use in the X-Ray detection market, offering either direct or indirect detection. A range of sensors can be incorporated into these platforms to address both imaging and spectroscopy applications, enabling photon detection from VUV (<5eV) through to hard X-Ray (>50keV).

X-Ray Range

Using existing CCD, EMCCD and CMOS core engines, Raptor can now manufacture detection solutions with multiple interfaces to the sampling environment, including:

  • Feedthrough options for In Vacuum cameras including power, CameraLink, Water and Trigger.
  • Various entrance windows / ambient light barriers, such as Beryllium or Aluminium.
  • Vacuum or Non-vacuum mounting flanges.
  • Fibre-optic coupled configurations to interface to additional components with a fibre-optic output, such as scintillator plates, streak tubes or MCPs.

Raptor Eagle XO

Open Front High Energy CCDs with a range of custom options

Introducing a high energy direct X-Ray Open Front version one of the most sensitive CCD cameras in the World. The Eagle XO is available in a range of options including sensor resolution, sensor type, cooling and flange options. This freedom of choice offers cameras to meet your exact needs.

Raptor Eagle XV

In Vacuum High Energy CCDs with a range of custom options

Introducing a high energy direct X-Ray In Vacuum version, one of the most sensitive CCD cameras in the World. The Eagle XV is available in a range of options including sensor resolution, sensor type, cooling and feedthrough options – including trigger, liquid, power and CameraLink. This freedom of choice offers cameras to meet your exact needs.

Raptor Falcon III XO

Fastest Scientific X-ray camera on the market

The only high energy direct X-Ray using a 1MP Frame Transfer EMCCD sensor. The Falcon III XO offers a combination of speed and sensitivity for soft X-Ray applications up to 20KeV. The camera runs at 31.5fps in full resolution, fasted with ROI and binning. It offers <1e- readout noise using EM Gain. The Falcon III XO is available with options on cooling, as well as a selection of CF flanges.

Raptor Falcon III XV

In-Vacuum, Digital Monochrome EMCCD X-Ray Camera

The Falcon III XV is Raptor’s latest offering for the in-vacuum X-Ray market, perfect for imaging very weak X-Ray samples close to UV and VUV, where speed is important. Using a next-generation uncoated EMCCD sensor offering 1MP resolution with 10µm square pixels, the Falcon III XV offers ultimate sensitivity and low noise, running at 30 fps in full resolution, faster if ROI’ed or binned. The Falcon III XV is available with a range of feedthrough options – including trigger, liquid, power and CameraLink.

Raptor’s X-Ray Sensor Replacement Promise

Working with high-energy lasers it is almost inevitable that sensors occasionally get damaged. Raptor Photonics appreciate the time and financial impact of downtime associated with a broken camera. Even Raptor have experienced this pain! As a result, they offer a sensor damage replacement scheme, where they will replace any laser damaged sensors in our cameras at a cost equal to 50% of the initial camera cost, during the first two years of ownership. They will do this quickly and without fuss.

Raptor camera used in XUV, Soft X-ray and Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) spectroscopy applications

High energy spectroscopy requires precision analytical tools that help scientists and researchers to investigate molecular and atomic spectra from the infrared into the soft x-ray and short ultraviolet wavelength regions. Raptor has worked with McPherson Instruments to develop a unique solution using their Model 251MX flat field spectrograph and Raptor’s Eagle XO, a cooled, direct detection CCD.
