Quantum Design Laser-Based Floating Zone Furnace
Laser based floating zone furnace
Quantum Design is proud to introduce a laser-based floating zone (FZ) furnace for the production of long single crystals. This system, based on technology developed by RIKEN CEMS (Centre for Emergent Matter Science) in Japan, promises the opportunity to grow materials unable to be grown by traditional floating zone methods.
Features
- Wide temperature range from 500 °C to 3000 °C
- Reduction of thermal stresses due to adapted laser profile
- Real-time temperature monitoring
- Suitable for degassing materials
- High laser stability due to patented design
Specifications
- 5 laser beams/heads
- 2000 watts laser power in FZ region (400 watts × 5 beams)
- 400 °C ~ 3000 °C Temperature range (material dependent)
- Temperature Monitoring: 800°C ~ 3000°C (via radiation thermometer)
